The Department of Physiology at our medical college is committed to excellence in teaching and training, aiming to provide undergraduate students with a comprehensive understanding of the normal functions of the human body’s organ systems. This foundation enables students to grasp the physiological basis of health and disease. By the end of the course, students will be able to explain the normal functioning of all organ systems and their interactions for well-coordinated body function, assess the contribution of each system in maintaining internal homeostasis (milieu intérieur), elucidate the physiological aspects of normal growth and development, describe the body’s responses and adaptations to environmental stresses, and understand the physiological principles underlying the pathogenesis and treatment of disease. In addition, students will acquire essential skills to conduct physiological experiments, interpret experimental and investigative data, and distinguish between normal and abnormal laboratory findings. Through integrated teaching, students will develop a cohesive knowledge of organ structure, function, and the regulatory mechanisms essential for maintaining health.
